WHAT WE BELIEVE
At Church 54, Jesus is our message and the Bible is our foundation. These beliefs express the biblical truths that unite us and guide how we follow Jesus, love people and serve our city.
The Bible
We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God. It reveals who God is, communicates His plan for humanity and is our final authority for faith and life.

God & the Trinity
We believe in one eternal God who exists in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Each is fully God, yet God is one.

Jesus Christ
We believe Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, fully God and fully human. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died for our sins and rose bodily from the grave. He ascended to heaven and will return again.

Humanity & Sin
We believe every person is created in the image of God and possesses God-given worth and purpose. Sin entered the world through human disobedience, separating humanity from God and leaving every person in need of salvation.

Salvation
We believe salvation is God’s gift of grace, received through faith in Jesus Christ. We are saved by what Jesus accomplished through His death and resurrection, not by our own works. Salvation involves turning from sin, confessing Jesus as Lord and trusting Him with our lives.

The Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit is God and the third person of the Trinity. He convicts us of sin, leads us into truth, lives within believers and empowers us to live for Jesus and share the gospel.

The Gifts of the Spirit
We believe the gifts of the Holy Spirit are active in the Church today. The Spirit gives gifts such as prophecy, healing, tongues, discernment, faith and miracles for the glory of God and the strengthening of His Church.

Sanctification
We believe following Jesus is a lifelong journey of becoming more like Him. Through God’s Word and the work of the Holy Spirit, believers continually grow in holiness, obedience and Christlike character.

The Church
We believe the Church is the body of Christ, made up of all who place their faith in Jesus. The Church gathers to worship, learn God’s Word, pray, build community, serve others and carry the gospel into the world.

Water Baptism
We believe water baptism is an important step of obedience for every follower of Jesus. It is a public declaration of faith and identifies the believer with the death, burial and resurrection of Christ.

Communion
We believe communion is a sacred practice given to the Church by Jesus. Through the bread and cup, we remember His sacrifice, proclaim His death and celebrate the new covenant established through His blood.

Prayer & Fasting
We believe prayer is how we communicate with God, depend on Him and align our hearts with His will. We practice fasting as a spiritual discipline that helps us draw closer to God, strengthen our faith and surrender our desires to Him.

Healing & Miracles
We believe God still heals and performs miracles today. We pray for the sick in faith, trust the power of the Holy Spirit and submit every outcome to God’s wisdom and timing.

Marriage & Family
We believe marriage is a sacred covenant established by God between one man and one woman. Marriage reflects Christ’s covenant love for His Church, and the family is intended to be nurtured through love, faithfulness, honor and biblical truth.

The Return of Christ & Eternity
We believe Jesus Christ will return, the dead will be raised and every person will stand before God. Those who receive salvation through Christ will spend eternity with God, while those who reject Him will experience eternal separation from God. God will ultimately make all things new.
